Welcome.
I’m glad You’re here.

The MIndful Childcare Coach:

My name is Wren Bailey,
and I’m

I coach adults in having healthier,
more influential, more fulfilling relationships with children; and in managing behavior,
by supporting the
social-emotional development
of both adult and child.

…I call this “Mindful Childcare.”

What is Social-Emotional Development?

Your individual social-emotional development determines the success of all your relationships, because it oversees all the areas where
your social life overlaps with your emotional life:
-Communication about our own feelings
-Conflict-resolution habits
-Responding to others’ feelings

And these areas are the foundation of parenting.

Where does my expertise come from?

I’ve been working professionally with children for almost 20 years. (Click here to read more about my early start in the childcare industry.) Early in my career, observing children’s common behavior struggles led me to reflect on my own childhood experiences with traditional discipline. Inspired by my reflections, and my students’ negative experiences with traditional methods, it became my life’s mission to find a better way to “control kids’ behavior” than exasperating them, and deflating them.
Over the next ten+ years, I studied many parenting philosophies and tested them out on the kids I was working with. Some strategies made everything worse, and I felt bad using them. But some strategies gained the kids’ cooperation, improved the situation,
and even made everyone feel better!
To make a long story short: I dove deeper into those good-feeling strategies; and expanded them into an entire philosophy for caring for children,
rooted in the science of
healthy social-emotional development.

That’s how Mindful Childcare was born.

After working in professional capacities
with hundreds of children (literally about 500)
over the course of 20 years,
I can teach, from experience:
-what communication strategies work
-what approaches to relationships work
-and why they work
…in parenting, and in all adult-child relationships.

(And in my opinion, …if we change our adult-child relationships, we change the world.)
